\Tinge\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Tinged}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Tingeing}.] [L. tingere, tinctum, to dye, stain, wet; akin to Gr. ?, and perhaps to G. tunken to dip, OHG. tunch[=o]n, dunch[=o]n, thunk[=o]n.
